I offer private Chinese lessons to beginner and immediate adult learners. My curriculum is based on the Practical Audio-Visual Chinese textbook series by the Mandarin Training Center of National Taiwan Normal University. The textbook uses Traditional Chinese characters but I can offer instruction with Simplified Chinese characters if required.

I believe in employing the Direct Method in my classroom to provide as immersive of an environment as possible. By creating a dynamic, language-rich setting, I guide students to think directly in the target language, avoiding translation and emphasizing natural communication. My approach focuses on active learning, where students are encouraged to speak, listen, and interact exclusively in the language they’re learning.
